Greece finds a way to protect its people against Covid-19: TB vaccine
The vaccination decision, approved by the Greek National Medicines Agency, will be implemented in all cities of the country, primarily the capital Athens, Thessaloniki and Patras.
The efficacy of tuberculosis vaccine, which was developed in the 1920s and therefore named Bacillus Calmette-Guérin (BCG), was proved by scientists as a result of a 3-year study. It has been revealed that people who have received BCG vaccine are 5 times less likely to develop respiratory infections. In the opinion of experts, this measure will protect people from the risk group against covid-19.
